About the Role

Teranet is currently seeking a Manager, Enterprise Risk Management. You will report directly to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management and will be accountable for maintaining, developing, and enhancing key elements of the Risk Management program. This includes tasks such as managing tools, providing training, facilitating risk workshops, and assessing, monitoring, and reporting on risks to Senior Leadership.

You will work closely with Teranet’s Senior Leadership team to integrate ERM principles and practices into the organization’s management system, ensuring alignment with the Teranet ERM program. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement in the enterprise-wide management of ERM.

As the Risk Partner for the Commercial Solutions line of business and Foster Moore, you will collaborate with leadership teams to identify, analyze, prioritize, monitor, and report on both existing and emerging risks. Your work will ensure risk management excellence in support business operations.

Your prior experience in risk management, coupled with your dedication to continuous improvement and learning, will allow you to provide expertise and leadership in managing enterprise-wide risks

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the quarterly process of risk updates and related reporting to the Enterprise Risk Committee (ERC) and Audit & Risk Committee (ARC)

  • Complete risk advisory engagements (Data Governance, Business Continuity, Fraud Risk Assessment, etc.)

  • Maintain our Digital Risk Register System (Resolver)

  • Partner with and assist the Commercial Solutions business line and Foster Moore (including other business lines as we grow) in performing risk assessments, monitoring the adequacy of risk management, and reporting updates on risk status

  • Maintain and update key metrics reports for the ERC, ARC, and the Board

  • Promote ERM risk awareness and risk culture across the organization

  • Engage appropriate stakeholders in enhancing internal processes and risk management capabilities, championing continuous improvement in managing risks (i.e., risk excellence). This includes identifying gaps, recommending solutions, and addressing potential issues

  • Stay current on emerging risks, trends, and developments, and grow knowledge of the business, analytical tools, and techniques to optimize enterprise-wide risk management  

  • Build and maintain effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program/project managers, and other internal and external stakeholders

  • Perform tasks as assigned to support the ERM program.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Risk Management or Audit (internal or external)

  • Proven experience drafting reports for Executive Management and/or Boards/Audit Committees

  • Strong critical thinker, problem solver, innovator, and collaborative team player

  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management

  • Strong analytical capabilities

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Knowledge of Risk Management and Internal Control Frameworks and best practices

  • Background in IT security and IT risk management is an asset

  • Understanding of the real estate and credit/lending markets is an asset

  • Knowledge of Resolver (Digital Risk Register) is an asset

The annual pay range for this role is $140,400 – 163,800 CAD, inclusive of base salary and target incentive pay.
