We are looking for a highly motivated Manager, Application Support to join our team in Toronto. You will be a key member of a highly engaged and high reaching world-class team. This role involves working closely with internal teams and partners to support and enhance enterprise application services. You will help oversee operational execution of key application support functions while ensuring alignment with enterprise security, reliability, and operational standards.

In this role, you will champion operational stability and service reliability across a dynamic enterprise environment. You will apply analytical thinking to identify operational risks, resolve issues efficiently, and drive continuous improvements to strengthen system performance and service delivery.

The Manager, Application Support will provide leadership and best practice guidance to technology teams to ensure secure and reliable application services across the enterprise. The role requires strong technical and operational expertise, excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to improve processes and outcomes. Experience with enterprise service management platforms and monitoring tools is an asset.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

• Lead and manage the Application Support team responsible for enterprise applications and infrastructure services.
• Manage, mentor, and develop support engineers while ensuring reliable operational coverage.
• Oversee application patching, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring systems remain secure and compliant with security standards.
• Manage certificate lifecycle processes, including monitoring expirations and coordinating renewals.
• Support and maintain Secure Managed File Transfer (SMFT) applications and services, ensuring secure and reliable data exchange.
• Maintain working knowledge of Windows/Linux systems and database systems to support troubleshooting and system stability.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to support infrastructure and application monitoring.
• Coordinate patching cycles, upgrades, and operational changes across supported platforms.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks to support consistent service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements with internal stakeholders.
• Track operational metrics, vulnerability remediation progress, and system health, and report status to leadership.
• Support audit, compliance, and security initiatives related to application operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve service reliability, implement new solutions, and drive innovation in application support and operational processes.

 

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • 8–10 years of IT experience, preferably in application support or infrastructure operations.

  • A college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Experience managing enterprise application support teams or operations.

  • Strong experience with application patching, vulnerability management, and infrastructure operations.

  • Experience with certificate lifecycle management platforms.

  • Working knowledge of Windows/Linux systems, databases, and troubleshooting application or infrastructure issues.

  • Must have knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.

  • Good to have familiarity with enterprise technologies such as ServiceNow, DigiCert, and monitoring tools like Datadog and SolarWinds and patching tools.

  • Experience with API integrations to support process automation.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement and innovation.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.
The expected salary range for this position is $107,000 - 157,000 per year.
