The Manager, DtC Marketplace will lead the vision and execution of the company’s growth plan for Canada. This high-impact role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, data-driven Marketplace strategy across multiple divisions, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. This role will focus on building and nurturing our partnership at the management level with the goal of optimizing performance across all product lines.
Role and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and lead the eCommerce Marketplace strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with division heads and cross-functional teams to ensure strategy coherence across the company's product lines.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities to grow sales on the platform(s).
- Own the operations from listings to shipping and returns to ensure a positive NPS outcome for our Brand.
- Work with senior management, global sales team, and other international markets to ensure alignment with global corporate plans.
Growth & Revenue Generation:
- Drive growth initiatives aimed at meeting and exceeding aggressive targets.
- Lead efforts to optimize product listings, enhance customer experience, and improve search visibility on all Marketplace platforms.
- Spearhead strategies for promotions, pricing, and assortment to maximize profitability and market share.
- Develop and implement Go To Market strategies for new product launches on all Marketplace platforms.
Partnership & Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with our key Marketplace 3rd party partners to drive market growth.
- Represent the company in high-level negotiations with 3rd party partners, ensuring the company is positioned as a preferred partner.
- Leverage the capabilities of middleware partners, seller centre, and miracle to achieve operational success on all platforms at scale.
- Establish themselves as the primary contact for 3rd party partners: addressing all concerns and follow-ups within negotiated timelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between 3rd party partner -focused teams and other departments (e.g. Marketing, Supply Chain, IT) to ensure seamless execution of strategies.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision making, leveraging analytics and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Global team to share "best practices" and foster sales improvement in Canada.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee end-to-end Marketplace operations, ensuring optimal inventory levels, smooth fulfillment, and compliance with 3rd party Partner's standards.
- Develop and implement KPI's to track performance, drive accountability, and ensure continuous optimization.
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree (e.g. MBA) preferred.
Experience:
- Typically requires minimum 5 years' of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience.
- Experience in the mobile, consumer electronics or kitchen appliances industry preferred.
- Experience managing Amazon or Walmart accounts an asset.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior leadership.
Knowledge:
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Deep understanding of Samsung’s ecosystem including, mobile, consumer electronics, major appliances and SmartThings related devices.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data and insights to drive strategic decision-making.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, business development and capabilities to scale.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with eCommerce tools and platforms.
- Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of consumer behavior.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and program development experience.
- Strong Presentation Skills with strong Excel & Power Point skills.
- Knowledge of ERP such as SAP is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Verbal & Written).
- Dynamic, motivating, and entrepreneurial-minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and deadlines.
- The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiple levels within and outside the company.
- The ability to work in a team environment to identify and achieve team project goals and results, including the completion of assignments within established periods.
