Role description:

Arcadis Canada is looking for a Major Projects Director to lead the pursuit and delivery of major projects across country for the Mobility Global Business Area (GBA) to optimize Arcadis’ global financial and brand position. 

Projects will be highly complex, requiring delivery through several countries and be multi-year, delivering benefits cross the Mobility GBA. Projects managed will be high profile and will attract significant public attention on a national and global scale. 

This role will report into the Mobility Canada Business Area Director with a dotted line to the Mobility Canada Operations Director. 

Role accountabilities:

In this role you will be expected to win and deliver major projects. You will develop detailed project execution strategies to support the development of high-value project pursuits and play a lead role in the pursuit process. You will manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies, both project-wide and in cross-organizational/GBA working, to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction. You will work with GBA leadership to review and support high-risk projects and contribute to wider organizational initiatives to improve performance. Additionally, you will influence a range of senior stakeholders and manage critical relationships to ensure all parties are informed and aligned about how to deliver project objectives. 

This candidate will also lead, motivate and develop a diverse project team of senior specialists by setting objectives, and reviewing performance to ensure staff are driven and have the necessary skills to deliver the project objectives. You will lead strategic negotiations including contract negotiations with customers, contractors, stakeholders, and major suppliers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors or masters degree
  • 15+ years of experience pursing and leading major projects within a multinational engineering or professional services firm
  • Qualifications in financial/business management, client management, innovation, and leadership are highly desirable 
  • Demonstrated experience creating and leading high performing teams

The salary range for this position is $197,000 - $247,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
