Primary Skill: CICS Transaction Server | Secondary: IBM MQ (z/OS)

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe CICS / MQ Engineer to support and maintain enterprise CICS and MQ environments on z/OS. This role focuses primarily on CICS system programming, with strong hands‑on responsibility for IBM MQ subsystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, upgrade, and support CICS Transaction Server regions
  • Strong knowledge of CICS internals, storage protection, transaction isolation, and RENTPGM
  • Support CICS inter‑region communication (MRO, ISC)
  • Install and support vendor products running within CICS
  • Perform troubleshooting, service restoration, and root‑cause analysis
  • Support Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and execution
  • Maintain IBM MQ subsystems, JCL, pagesets, channels, buffer pools, and security
  • Install, upgrade, and apply PTFs/HIPERs for MQ environments
  • Support MQ security, audits, and distributed queue management
  • Participate in 24x7 on‑call rotation
  • Follow change management and audit processes

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with CICS Transaction Server on z/OS
  • Working experience with IBM MQSeries / IBM MQ on z/OS
  • MVS tools: TSO/ISPF, JCL, SDSF, IBM & VSAM utilities
  • Exposure to RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret
  • Disaster Recovery experience (backup, restore, DR drills)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Nice to Have

  • IBM Assembler familiarity (reading code/dumps/exits)
  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments
