About the Job
Effectively work with our customers on their final obligations in the collection of written-off accounts and deficiency balance resulting from the sale or charge-off of the assets. Responsible for coordinating vendor relationships, and activities for Arrears Management.
Responsibilities
What You Drive
Control trucking company portfolio recovery portfolio; including skip and deficiency files. Make outbound calls, establish payment plans/settlements, follow-up with trustees, attorneys, and skip agencies to maximize recovery opportunities.
Ensure appropriate legal documents and reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner such as completion of the Proof of Claims for customers who have made an Assignment in Bankruptcy, Legal Authorization Checklist, and completion of Abandonment/Settlement document. Represent in legal actions when necessary. Liaise with approved vendors for collections and recoveries.
Ensure vehicles are ordered, paid, and delivered in a timely manner. Responsible for the payment of fuel, maintenance, and tolls for the company car program. Tracking of kilometers completed monthly for taxation purposes.
Identify, quantify, report and manage all risks associated with outsourcing opportunities, process optimization and/or operational efficiencies, champion support for opportunities with management.
Continuous process, reporting and metric improvements for the recovery team, including creating process/training documentation. Work closely with other departmental subject matter experts to share best practices, train staff and improve overall department knowledge of collections and recoveries in Arrears Management.
Preferred Skills
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, economics or Equivalent work experience in the finance industry
5+ years of experience in Customer Service and Collections
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
Able to handle difficult situations in a positive and professional manner.
Commercial funding experience
French language speaking/writing is an asset
