Logistics Planner

Job Summary
Interact with carriers / dispatchers to ensure the highest level of visibility and service. In doing so the JLP needs to identify, address, and resolve all in transit issues. Timely communication with all relevant stakeholders to determine the best course of action in the shortest amount of time is fundamental.
Responsibilities/ Tasks
1. Carrier Relations:
     1. Grow & develop strong carrier relationships
     2. Monitor and provide feedback on carrier overall performance to the Carrier Logistic Planner
     3. Proactive communication with carriers to ensure shipments are being executed as scheduled
     4. Trace status of shipments and provide information back to Shipper Logistics Planner as needed
     5. Handle initial information on loss/damage and shortage claims on shipments
 2. Customer Relations / Reporting:
     1. Complete TMS shipment updates
     2. Conduct EDI audits
     3. Update / Reconcile yard checks
     4. Book Lumpers
     5. Track, report and bill accessorial charges

    1. Ensure data integrity is high when managing and completing orders
    2. Verify carrier data is accurate before completing orders
5. Other Responsibilities:
    1. Support and replace other team members as needed

•     Must be eager, up for new challenges, and not willing to settle
•     Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
•     Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
•     Self starter with good judgment, well organised, professional and detail oriented individual
•     Ability to multi-task and manage priorities, meet deadlines, work under pressure and take on            additional tasks
•     A good knowledge of North American geography is an asset
•     Post secondary education is required
•     Working knowledge of AS400 is preferred
