The Opportunity:

We are a leading Canadian financial services co-operative committed to being a catalyst for a sustainable and resilient society. Our people are at the heart of that commitment, and we prioritize creating an environment where they can grow, contribute, and thrive.

Our national Human Resources team plays a critical role in enabling a culture where our organization and our employees can succeed. We think strategically, act with intention, and focus on building simple, effective solutions that enhance the employee experience.

The Lead Talent Development Consultant, Learning Technology & Strategy is a senior enterprise role responsible for shaping how learning is enabled, delivered, and scaled through technology across the organization.

This role leads the design and evolution of our learning technology ecosystem, ensuring it is integrated, future-ready, and aligned to business priorities. With accountability for the Learning Management System (LMS) and broader learning technologies, you will lead transformation at scale—including our upcoming LMS migration—while establishing the standards, frameworks, and practices that define how learning operates across the enterprise.

You will act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to Talent Development, HR, and learning leaders and teams—bringing together enterprise learning needs, translating them into integrated solutions, and ensuring cohesive implementation across the organization. You will play a key role in advancing the use of AI in learning and strengthening our position as a high-performing Centre of Expertise.

How you will create impact:

Lead Enterprise Learning Technology Strategy

  • Define and lead the enterprise learning technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment to business priorities and future workforce needs
  • Design an integrated learning technology ecosystem, connecting LMS, content, tools, data, and emerging technologies into a cohesive experience
  • Assess enterprise learning needs and translate them into scalable, effective technology-enabled solutions
    Lead LMS Transformation and Modernization
  • Lead the organization’s LMS transformation strategy, including enterprise-wide migration
  •  Establish the governance, standards, and execution approach for migration, ensuring quality, consistency, and business readiness
  •  Provide strategic oversight of LMS operations, focusing on optimization—not day-to-day administration
  •  Ensure the LMS is positioned as a core enabler of the broader learning ecosystem
Define and Elevate Enterprise Learning Standards
  •  Establish and evolve enterprise-wide standards, frameworks, and best practices across:
o Learning technology and LMS design
o Learning experience & design, usability, and scalability
        o Accessibility in digital learning
o Responsible and effective use of AI in learning
  • Develop and maintain enterprise documentation, including playbooks, standards, and decision frameworks
Lead AI Integration in Learning and Enable AI Readiness
  • Define and lead the organization’s approach to AI in learning—as both a tool and a mindset, ensuring it is practical, actionable, responsible, and aligned to business priorities
  • Strengthen Governance and Regulatory Enablement
  •  Establish and maintain governance that supports both enterprise learning priorities and regulatory training requirements, balancing flexibility with control
  •  Provide oversight and direction to ensure regulatory and compliance training is effectively managed, including alignment to business requirements, consistency in delivery, and clear ownership across the organization
To join our team:
  •  7–10+ years of experience in learning technology, learning strategy, or related roles
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-level LMS implementations or transformations
  •  Strong understanding of learning technology ecosystems, not just LMS platforms
  • Experience designing and implementing standards, governance models, and operating frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience integrating or scaling AI in learning or digital experiences
  •  Knowledge of accessibility standards in digital learning
  • Strong consulting and influencing skills, with experience working with senior leaders
  • Experience translating business needs into scalable, technology-enabled solutions
  • Strong project leadership and organizational skills
How you will succeed:
  • You have an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.
  • You use critical thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions and proactively propose solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view.
  • You build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.
What you need to know:
  • You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
What’s in it for you?
  • Training and development opportunities to grow your career.
  • Flexible work options and paid time off to support your personal and family needs.
  • A holistic approach to your well-being, with physical and mental health programs and a supportive workplace culture.
  • Paid volunteer days to give back to your community.
  • In addition to our competitive salary and incentive programs, eligible employees also benefit from a comprehensive total rewards package including group retirement savings plans, pension and benefits (e.g., health and wellness, dental, disability and life coverage), mental health support and an employee assistance program.

Expected salary range $91,058.00 to $141,058+

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
