Junior Procurement Engineer

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups. We have been providing a wide range of services to the nuclear industry in Canada and around the world since for more than 60 years. We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology.

This position is for a junior or entry level personnel who is self-motivated and willing to develop their career and experience in the nuclear field.

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin/Candu Energy QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.
  • Perform assignments under close supervision of an engineer in an upper grade, which are of low complexity and are frequently designed to develop work knowledge.
  • Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or department to execute assigned engineering work.
  • Provide support to project teams for nuclear power plants in Canada and aboard.
  • Complete assigned scope of work and or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.

The ideal candidate:

  • Engineering degree or graduate degree related to Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Materials Engineering or similar, including courses and/or work experience.
  • Engineering degree from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to respond to pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven aptitude for continuous learning.
  • Basic knowledge of CANDU mechanical and process systems, structures and components is an asset.
  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including considering the plans of others.
