The Junior Pension Administrator provides administrative support for the day-to-day operation of pension plans. Working under the guidance of senior team members, the incumbent assists with member transactions, data processing, correspondence, and regulatory reporting while ensuring a high level of accuracy and customer service.The Junior Pension Administrator will:
  • Process routine pension administration transactions, including enrolments, terminations, retirements, beneficiary updates, and transfers.
  • Maintain accurate member records within pension administration systems.
  • Prepare member correspondence, pension statements, forms, and benefit calculations under supervision.
  • Respond to member, employer, and union inquiries by telephone and email in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support pension payroll administration and related processing, as required.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical plan records.
  • Ensure compliance with pension legislation, plan provisions, administrative policies, and service standards.
     
To be successful as a Junior Pension Administrator with BPA, you will need
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Previous office or administrative experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience in pension or benefits administration is an asset but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
     
All-star candidates will have:
  • Exposure to defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension plans.
  • Familiarity with pension administration systems.
  • Knowledge of Canadian pension legislation is an asset.

Salary Range

The base salary for this position is between $53,000 - $60,000 annually.

 

This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). The actual base salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be able to provide additional details of the total compensation for this role.
