Junior Brand Designer

About the team
Cohere builds AI for the enterprise. The Brand team is small, opinionated, and cares about craft. We work on everything from the website and campaigns to event identity, swag, and the occasional side project that doesn't fit any category. Our work shapes how the world sees the company, and we get a lot of room to do it well.

About the role
We're looking for a Junior Designer with serious range. You'll work with senior designers on a mix of digital and print projects: landing pages, social assets, decks, campaigns, event collateral, brand systems. The bar is high. We're hiring out of the same pool that goes to the best studios in the world, and we expect the work to look like it.

This is a craft-focused role. You'll get real responsibility early, with senior people in your corner whose job is to help you grow.

What you'll do

  • Design web pages, social assets, decks, and campaign work from brief to ship.

  • Use AI image and video tools as part of your everyday practice, not as a gimmick.

  • Help maintain and extend our brand system across every surface it touches.

  • Support events: booths, signage, wayfinding, swag, the works.

  • Take feedback well and give it back when something feels off.

  • Bring ideas. Junior doesn't mean quiet.

What we're looking for

  • Formal design training from a program known for taste and rigor, or a self-taught body of work that holds up next to one.

  • 1–2 years of design experience.

  • A portfolio with real range. Typography, layout, art direction, and a clear point of view matter more to us than volume.

  • Fluent in Figma and the Adobe suite.

  • Fluent (or actively getting there) with AI image and video tools — Midjourney, Runway, Nano Banana, ComfyUI, whatever you reach for. We care about how you use them, not which ones.

  • Curiosity about AI

  • Taste, and the self-awareness to know yours can still grow.

Bonus points if you also

  • Shoot photos or video and have a body of work to show for it.

  • Run a publication, zine, newsletter, or some kind of independent creative project.

  • Do motion, 3D, or creative coding.

  • Write well. We mean it.

We hire people who design as a job and make things as a life. If you have a side practice, that's not extra credit, it's part of why we'll want to talk to you.

If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply!

We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form, and we will work together to meet your needs.
