Intermediate to Senior Designer (in-office)
Our office in Woodbridge, Ontario is looking for a Intermediate to Senior Designer to help lead and grow our dynamic team. We specialize in the design of heavy industrial facilities such as cement, lime, mining, pulp and paper. Our design professionals support projects all over the US and Canada and integrate with multi-discipline engineering teams on a wide array of projects. This is an opportunity to drive and expand an energetic team and learn from professionals with many years of experience.
Job Summary:
As an Intermediate or Senior Designer, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary team to design innovative building systems and deliver high‑quality construction documents for impactful institutional projects across diverse markets.
In this role you will design for the heavy industrial industry such as cement, lime, mining, pulp and paper.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties will include:
- Develop accurate, coordinated design and construction documents for heavy industrial facilities.
- Collaborate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines to ensure drawing/model integration.
- Lead preparation and checking of drawings and models, support field/client coordination, and help ensure safe, on‑schedule delivery that meets project quality standards.
Skills/abilities:
- Extensive experience in AutoCAD to produce drawings
- Extensive experience in Revit to produce drawings
- Has a minimum of 5 years of experience with heavy industry such as cement, lime, mining, pulp and paper
- The desire to work towards the Company's goal of excellent and timely service
- Experience in the following commercial building construction systems is required:
- Reinforced and post-tensioned concrete
- Reinforced masonry
- Structural steel and composite steel
- Shallow, deep and raft foundations
- Concrete, masonry and wood shear wall systems
- Steel braced frame and moment frame systems
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills in design and specifications
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to learn from, and work with other team members
Location: Woodbridge, Ontario (in-office with eventual possibility of hybrid)
Travel: Occasional travel may be required (10% could include to the US)
Compensation: Annual salary range: $70,000 to $90,000 CAD commensurate with experience
