The Intermediate Frontend Developer is an intermediate level position responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new or revised user-facing application systems and programs, collaborating closely with the Technology team. This role focuses on building engaging and responsive web interfaces, ensuring robust client-server communication, and contributing to overall application system quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain user-facing applications using modern web technologies, including ReactJS, advanced JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3, ensuring high performance and responsive design across various browsers and devices.

  • Implement UI components and features, translating design mockups and wireframes into clean, well-structured, and maintainable code.

  • Integrate frontend applications with backend services by consuming RESTful APIs, ensuring efficient data flow and robust client-server architecture.

  • Collaborate with backend developers to define API contracts and optimize data retrieval, demonstrating a solid understanding of SQL databases for effective system communication, including query writing and performance tuning concepts.

  • Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code.

  • Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.

  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance optimization of frontend applications.

  • Contribute to code reviews and maintain code quality using version control tools (e.g., Git).

  • Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems.

  • Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in frontend development within the Financial Service industry.

  • Intermediate level experience in developing robust web applications.

  • Strong proficiency in ReactJS, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.

  • Solid experience with SQL databases, demonstrating capability in query writing and an understanding of performance tuning.

  • In-depth understanding of RESTful APIs and client-server architecture.

  • Proficient with version control tools (e.g., Git) for collaborative development.

  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as .NET Framework / .NET Core for effective integration and communication.

  • Experience or familiarity with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) with MVVM pattern is a plus, indicating a broader application development background.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
