About the role: 

We are hiring an Integrated Designer to join our hybrid onsite team in Toronto for one of our large financial clients! This person will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with the client team, working alongside a group of eight other dedicated Designers, as well as a client side Creative Director and the agency Creative Director leading the overall business. We are looking for a designer who knows how to express their ideas clearly and confidently. Ready for hands-on projects at every stage—from brainstorming creative concepts and developing original content, to participating in client presentations and ensuring deadlines are met. We want you to create amazing work and we also want you to eventually mentor junior designers and help shape their personal skills and design perspective. OLIVER is a seriously collaborative family, so our designers need to collaborate across disciplines, client and agency teams, and products, all while maintaining high standards for original concepts and detailed execution.

What you will be doing: 

  • Translate art direction into effective visual communications across a variety of mediums including print, social and digital 
  • Demonstrate a curious and creative mindset through brainstorming, research, and experimentation, to deliver the most effective design experiences for our customers
  • Collaborate with internal client and agency teams 
  • Present and articulate concepts and designs to creative director and marketing partners
  • Share knowledge and learning within the group
  • Hands-on” ability to own the work, be responsible and accountable from concept through production
  • Develop and deliver work that elevates and strengthens our clients’ brand appeal and perception with consumers, demonstrated through a strong visual and typographical aesthetic
  • Contribute to a culture of continual creative improvement, innovation, and design excellence

What you need to be great in this role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma or equivalent in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, or related field
  • 3+ years of design experience, preferably within an agency or financial services environment
  • Experience working with brand standards and design systems
  • Experience translating user research and customer insights into design decisions
  • Strong understanding of design principles including typography, colour, imagery, grid systems, and composition
  • Thorough understanding of design systems
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong technical skills to create and edit complex financial graphics 
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, application design, and social media applications 
  • Strong understanding of accessible design principles 
  • Ability to work collaboratively, possessing excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Progressive portfolio of past work
