THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Director of Customer Experience, the position is responsible for supervising employees in the pump division, monitoring and managing their workload, providing coaching and feedback on tasks, and providing technical guidance and support. This position is also responsible for building and maintaining professional working relationships with suppliers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Management:

  • Leads employees within division, tracks and measures Company goals, provides instruction and direction on tasks
  • Assists in hiring new team members, if required
  • Assists in coordinating the training of new and existing team members
  • Regularly monitors and evaluates the work of employees; appraises job results and employee performance, administers disciplinary measures, and conducts regular one-on-one meetings with employees
  • Makes critical decisions daily, including procedure, planning, and sales strategy decisions; provides direction on any new sales initiatives, and assists reporting manager with the implementation of sales initiatives
  • Addresses, manages, and resolves all internal/external inquiries/requests related to processes, employee matters, and other inter-departmental issues, etc.

Core:

  • Supports and ensures departmental sales systems, methodologies, and procedures are in place and followed
  • Contributes to the development and achievement of the overall business plan
  • Updates the CRM; enters opportunities and assigns to team members, monitors, and manages workloads for team members, and monitors quote turnaround times
  • Provides support to team members on quotes and applications; answers technical or logistical questions and provides guidance on any outstanding issues/questions that require clarification
  • Updates the ERP; allocates orders and cancels lines
  • Verifies Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) approvals, M1 and C1 hold releases, and new account approvals
  • Communicates regularly with suppliers; discusses product pricing, and any technical requirements for quotes that team members require assistance with.
  • Reviews strategic business initiatives, i.e., IMPACT selling, Maximizer, and sales promotions with team members, regularly
  • Reviews quote activity and order entry of team members, monthly
  • Reviews sales reports with team members, and reporting manager, quarterly
  • Performs any other duties, as assigned, or required
Requirements

Essential:

  • College Diploma in a related field
  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Must demonstrate sound technical proficiency relating to various industry products and product applications; specifically, fluid mechanics and dynamics, and rotating equipment/machinery
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and must possess strong decision-making skills
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Must be a collaborative and a supportive team player, but also work independently
  • Be able to “think on your feet”, problem solve, and demonstrate creativity
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Must take ownership of own actions and demonstrate initiative
  • A demonstrated alignment with John Brooks values; customers first, ownership/accountability, respect, performance excellence, integrity and innovation
  • Ability to work remotely effectively and efficiently

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems
