As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer (On‑Prem), you will be responsible for replacing repeatable manual infrastructure build and configuration work with standardized, automated delivery mechanisms across on‑prem systems and network domains. You will design, build, and evolve automation that enables infrastructure teams to deploy and change environments through controlled, version‑driven workflows. 

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Systems Infrastructure 

Posting Type: Replacement Position

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $142,000 - $186,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career – What you’ll do

  • Automate end‑to‑end on‑prem infrastructure deployment and change workflows.

  • Replace manual infrastructure build and configuration processes with reusable automation.

  • Design standard automation patterns for network, system, and storage delivery.

  • Deliver infrastructure changes through automated, version‑controlled execution paths.

  • Develop and evolve a phased automation roadmap to reduce manual execution over time.

  • Focus initial automation efforts on network platforms, including firewall and load balancer changes.

  • Build and maintain code‑driven automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

  • Establish review, testing, approval, and change‑control practices for infrastructure automation.

  • Partner with system administrators and operations engineers to validate and adopt automation.

  • Assess current automation maturity and continuously identify new opportunities for automation.

Must‑have qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience automating on‑prem infrastructure across network security platforms.

  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including firewalls and load balancers.

  • Experience automating network platforms such as Palo Alto, F5 etc.

  • Strong scripting experience with Python or similar languages.

  • Expertise with infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible.

  • Proven ability to convert manual infrastructure tasks into reliable automation.

  • Experience building automation using infrastructure‑as‑code or configuration management tools.

  • Solid understanding of version control, peer review, and controlled change execution.

  • Exposure to infrastructure change governance and operational handoff practices.

Nice‑to‑have qualifications

  • Experience automating network platforms such as Palo Alto.

  • Strong scripting experience with Python or similar languages.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible.
