Job Description:

About the role:

The Information Security Analyst participates in the delivery of the Information Security Vulnerability Management capability and corresponding services within the Digital Security Threat Management department.

 The role’s primary mandate is in the vulnerability management service including management of internal and external scanning processes and tracking and reporting vulnerabilities identified.

What you will do:

  • Monitor vulnerabilities with subsequent classification and investigation follow up.
  • Investigate and report information security vulnerabilities across both infrastructure and application environments.
  • Participates in the delivery of the Information Security Program, including Enterprise Vulnerability Management, Risk Reporting and Security program initiatives.
  • Researching vulnerabilities/threats and writing technical and non-technical reports for management.
  • Look for opportunities to automate or enhance existing processes in the Vulnerability Management team that aligns to the Digital Enterprise model.

What you need to succeed:

  • University degree or Certificate in Information Security or Computer Technology is an advantage.
  • Intermediate IT/Information Security experience in vulnerability management or core security technologies.
  • Intermediate Internet, networking, and computer knowledge (software & hardware).
  • Knowledge of Information Security principles, protocols, practices and industry standards.
  • Understanding of existing and emerging Information Security technologies.
  • Good technology generalist, with a good understanding of all aspects of IT especially architecture.
  • Experience with ServiceNow modules and scanning tools.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Professional designation relating to Information Security (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA) is an advantage but not mandatory

Preferred skills

  • This role would ideally suit a candidate with previous hands-on security technology experience and a passion to learn.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
