Job Description

The Human Resources Manager position performs a variety of Human Resources function, including driving Talent programs across a wide range of client groups. The HR Manager will be responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day Talent function, ensuring smooth execution of programs and infinitives across internal client teams. The HR Manager will be a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance and solutions to optimize our Talent strategies. This role reports into the CTO with dotted line to Sr. HR Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Support CTO and Sr. HR Manager with execution of broader Talent strategies
  • Deliver strategic Talent consulting to internal client teams with a focus on strategic staff planning and development 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of value-added Talent programs such as performance management
  • Oversee junior – midlevel employee relations matters and investigations to minimize organizational risk
  • Build effective relationships and provide excellent client service by ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Help drive people initiatives focusing on retention, engagement, recognition and talent management
  • Work with Client Leads and managers on employees with performance concerns
  • Build relationships with Resource Management and Talent Acquisition Team for assigned client groups
  • Educate and implement Reasonable Accommodation and Flexible Work Arrangements
  • Pull and analyze talent data
  • Develop relationships with business leaders, become a credible Talent partner
  • Support with coaching and mediation for junior – midlevel employees
  • Ensure employee data integrity
  • Provide counselling and support on corporate policies and benefit programs
  • Advise and respond quickly to management needs regarding general Talent & HR issues
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects and social activities
  • Help implement new Human Resources procedures as required
  • Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education/Knowledge: University Degree or Community college diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience/Skill: 6-8 Years in the Human Resources field in a similar role
  • In depth knowledge of HRIS data tools (SAP, Workday etc.)
  • Knowledge of general HR practices, policies and pertinent legislation governing employment relations
  • Approachability, confidence, good humour and an absolute respect for confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of the organization and understanding of how to partner with other departments (Finance, Resource Management, Talent Acquisition, etc.)
  • Detail-orientated and highly motivated, self-starter, able to work well under pressure
  • Candidate must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills
