Purpose and Impact

  

Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Advisor provides day to day human resources support across employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, payroll coordination, HR systems maintenance, policy administration, and employee support. This role partners with business leaders and employees to deliver responsive, accurate, and compliant HR services while supporting organizational initiatives and employee engagement.

  

Responsibilities

Employee Lifecycle Administration

  • Process employee transactions including hires, promotions, lateral moves, transfers, and terminations.
  • Prepare employment letters, payroll documentation, benefits paperwork, disability documentation, and related employee communications.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate employment-related updates with payroll and other internal stakeholders.

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Administer employee data within HR systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Manage employee information and resolve data discrepancies within Workday, Dayforce, and other HR platforms.
  • Support HR audits, reporting requirements, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Provide front line troubleshooting support for Workday and Dayforce users.

Benefits, Disability & Payroll Support

  • Administer employee benefits and retirement savings programs.
  • Coordinate non-occupational disability claims and support return to work planning.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, disability programs, payroll, vacation entitlements, and related policies.
  • Escalate complex issues to Shared Services or appropriate subject matter experts as required.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support recruitment activities including interview participation and new hire onboarding.

Employee Relations & HR Advisory

  • Provide guidance to leaders and employees on employee and labour relations matters.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary processes, terminations, organizational changes, and exit interviews.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Escalate complex employee relations matters to HR leadership as required.

Training, Projects & Employee Support

  • Deliver basic employee training and education sessions.
  • Coordinate employee programs and engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in national HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders, employees, vendors, and HR colleagues.
  • Provide administrative support to HR leadership as required.
  • Ensure employees have appropriate access, credentials, and tools required to perform their roles.


Skills and Qualifications (Required)

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR policies, and employee relations practices.
  • Experience administering HR systems and employee records.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to supporting employees and leaders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.


Skills and Qualifications (Preferred)

  • CHRP designation.
  • Experience in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruitment.
  • Payroll administration experience.
  • Experience supporting disability management and return to work programs.
  • Experience using Workday and Dayforce.

Work Environment (Hybrid/Onsite)

  • Primarily office-based environment with regular interaction with employees, managers, and HR stakeholders.
  • Requires balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Occasional participation in onboarding sessions, training programs, recruitment activities, and special projects.

  

Please note - this is a contract position until April 2028; hybrid role minimum 3 days in office.
