About the Role: We are seeking an experienced HR Recruiter SME to lead and transform our People & Culture function, with a primary focus on managing and mentoring our master-level intern recruitment program. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise in building and scaling HR operations in a fast-paced, pre-seed AI startup environment. As the HR SME, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive HR strategies while providing expert guidance to our growing team of interns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of master-level interns in talent acquisition, providing guidance, training, and support to develop their recruitment capabilities
  • Design and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent for our quarterly intern recruitment cycles
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, from workforce planning to onboarding, ensuring a seamless candidate experience and efficient hiring processes
  • Create and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs that support our startup culture while ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop strategic workforce plans and organizational development initiatives
  • Support broader People Operations initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with experience in a senior HR role within a startup or high-growth technology company
  • Proven expertise in building and scaling HR functions from the ground up
  • Deep knowledge of talent acquisition strategies and modern recruitment technologies
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with HRIS implementation and optimization
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to execute tactically

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional HR certifications or interest in pursuing relevant certifications
  • Experience working with remote/distributed teams
  • Previous experience in AI or technology startups
  • International HR experience
  • Experience in mentoring or training junior HR professionals
