The Opportunity
Join a collaborative and supportive team focused on transformer repair. In this role, you’ll assist skilled tradespeople and support shipping/receiving operations. You’ll gain hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and procedures. You’ll learn from experienced team members and grow your technical and organizational skills. Starting salary: 30.32$ / hour. Must be willing to work on rotational shifts every 2 weeks (Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm and Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm – 2:00 am )
How you’ll make an impact
- Assist with transformer repair operations, under the direction of the supervisor or other repairmen.
- Perform basic mechanical and logistical tasks, following predetermined procedures.
- Operate forklifts and cranes when required.
- Pick up and deliver materials and equipment using shop truck.
- Support shipping and receiving when needed.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, dispose of garbage/recycling in accordance with local environmental standards.
- Label and store dismantled materials accurately.
- Monitor dry air pressure on stored units.
- Support continuous improvements initiatives within the facility.
- Contribute to safety and quality improvements by identifying and addressing issues within the scope of the role.
Your background
- High school diploma.
- Experience in a semi-skilled trade.
- Able to read drawings and bills of material.
- Comfortable with physical tasks like lifting, bending, pushing & pulling.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- WAH training, forklift license, MEWP licensed an asset
