As Head of Growth, you will define how customers discover, evaluate, and choose products in a rapidly evolving retail landscape. You will own the end-to-end growth strategy across acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue, blending data, creativity, experimentation, and emerging technology to build scalable growth engines. This is a senior leadership role with direct impact on company trajectory, brand visibility, and customer experience. 


What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Define and lead SecondShop’s holistic growth strategy across discovery, organic channels, paid media, lifecycle marketing, and partnerships. 
  • Reimagine product discovery in an AI-first world, experimenting with conversational commerce, generative search optimization, and new retail interfaces.  
  • Own the full customer funnel from first touch to repeat purchase, continuously optimising traffic, conversion, engagement, and lifetime value. Scalable growth hacks are encouraged. 
  • Design and execute high-velocity experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, multivariate tests, referral mechanics, loyalty loops, and viral mechanics). 
  • Partner closely with Product, Data, and Engineering to deliver growth initiatives that enable personalisation and retention. 
  • Oversee performance marketing with a strong focus on efficiency, attribution accuracy, and return on ad spend. 
  • Build advanced organic strategies including SEO, content ecosystems, creator and influencer collaborations, and community-driven growth. 
  • Analyse behavioural and commercial data to surface insights, identify risks, and inform strategic decisions at leadership level. 
  • Lead go-to-market planning for new features, categories, and promotions, ensuring strong adoption and measurable impact. 
  • Build and mentor a high-performing growth function, establishing a culture of experimentation, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging AI tools, analytics platforms, and growth methodologies, integrating them into SecondShop’s operating model. 

 

Who We’re Looking For 

  • 10+ years of experience in growth, digital marketing, product marketing, or a related leadership role within a B2C, ecommerce, or marketplace environment. 
  • Proven track record of scaling businesses through both organic and paid channels, with clear ownership of measurable outcomes. 
  • Deep curiosity and practical experience with AI-driven discovery, search, personalisation, or conversational commerce. 
  • Exceptional analytical capability - comfortable working with large datasets, attribution models, and experimentation frameworks. 
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, and Commercial teams. 
  • Resourceful, creative, and comfortable operating in ambiguous or fast-changing environments. 
  • Advanced knowledge of growth and analytics tooling (e.g., GA4, Mixpanel, Algolia, HubSpot, experimentation platforms, and modern SEO tooling). 
  • Excellent communication and storytelling ability - able to translate data into compelling narratives and strategic direction. 
  • A builder’s mindset with the confidence to test bold ideas while maintaining disciplined execution. 
  • Genuine passion for sustainability, smarter consumption, and redefining how Canadians shop.
