GTM/Sales Associate (Field Sales & Lead Generation) - Mithram

About Mithram

Mithram is building crisis intelligence technology that saves lives. Our real-time radio transcription platform helps emergency responders—firefighters, police, and 911 dispatchers—make faster, better-informed decisions during critical incidents.

We're a venture-backed company ($2.1M pre-seed from Pear Ventures, Tidepool Labs, and Stanford professors) with active pilot programs at fire departments across the Bay Area. We're now scaling to emergency response agencies nationwide.

The Role

We're looking for our first GTM/Sales Associate to build relationships with emergency response agencies on the ground. You'll spend time in the car visiting fire departments to introduce Mithram, then follow up via phone and demos to qualify opportunities for our founders to close.

What You'll Do

  • Field prospecting: Drive to fire departments and emergency response agencies across the Bay Area to introduce Mithram and build relationships with department leadership

  • Phone follow-up: Engage departments you've connected with via calls to run discovery, answer questions, and move opportunities forward

  • Run product demos: Showcase Mithram's technology remotely or in-person to fire chiefs, police captains, and emergency management teams

  • Qualify rigorously: Feed 5-8 qualified departments per week to founders based on budget, authority, need, and timeline (10-15 total meetings/calls per week)

  • Manage pipeline: Maintain organized tracking of accounts, visits, conversations, and opportunity status

  • Territory intelligence: Map target departments, identify decision-makers, and understand local procurement processes

What Success Looks Like

  • Week 1-4: Learn the product, understand emergency services landscape, and begin field visits across the Bay Area

  • Month 2-3: Consistently delivering 5-8 qualified opportunities per week through field prospecting and phone follow-up

  • Month 4+: Optimize territory coverage, refine messaging, and scale qualified pipeline delivery

What We're Looking For

  • 1-3 years of field sales, outside sales, or territory management experience (B2B or B2G preferred)

  • Comfortable with in-person prospecting: You enjoy getting in the car, showing up at departments, and building relationships face-to-face

  • Strong relationship builder: Can quickly establish credibility with fire chiefs and emergency management professionals

  • Self-directed: Thrive with autonomy—you'll plan your own territory coverage and daily schedule

  • Organized & detail-oriented: Track visits, follow-ups, and pipeline meticulously

  • Mission-driven: Genuinely care about technology that saves lives and serving first responders

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle

  • Bonus: Public sector sales experience, familiarity with emergency services, military/public safety background, or government procurement knowledge

Day-to-Day Reality

  • Mix of field visits (2-3 departments per day) and phone calls with warm leads

  • Planning efficient routes across Bay Area fire departments and police agencies

  • Some early mornings or shift changes to catch fire chiefs during their working hours

  • Collaborative weekly planning with founders to prioritize target accounts

  • Occasional ride-alongs with founders for high-priority prospects

Why Join Mithram

  • Mission that matters: Build relationships that directly enable life-saving technology

  • Early-stage ownership: First sales hire—define our field sales playbook from scratch

  • Founder collaboration: Weekly strategy sessions with CEO and founding team

  • Clear growth path: Opportunity to move into closing role or build a team as we scale

  • Strong traction: Active pilots with established departments and clear product-market fit

Compensation

  • Contractor salary/can convert to full-time salary based on performance ($70K-90K)

  • Performance bonuses tied to qualified pipeline metrics

  • Mileage reimbursement

  • Early-stage equity

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

Location

Bay Area based (must be local for daily field visits)
