What you’ll be doing 

Reporting to the Sr. Director Everyday Payments and Innovation, the Group Product Manager will be accountable as business lead for delivering payments innovations to market for CIBC retail clients.  You will also be responsible for development and evaluation of payments innovations for CIBC retail clients.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

Relationship Management -

  • Develop and manage relationships with CIBC line of business and other infrastructure groups as well as external partners to deliver strategically important payments initiatives

  • Build consensus among a wide range of stakeholders to ensure alignment on initiative scope, requirements, solution approach, costs, benefits, implementation and go to market approach.

  • Work closely with product, retail channels, fraud, technology and operations to deliver optimal end to end client payments experiences.

Business Leadership -

  • Act as Business Lead and Subject Matter Expert in the delivery of multiple strategic  innovation initiatives on behalf of the Payments team including:

    • Developing business cases and ensuring initiatives are designed and implemented to deliver on business case objectives and benefits.

    • Defining client journeys, process maps, communications, business implementation and go-to-market activities for assigned initiatives.

    • Actively seeking and evaluating opportunities to enhance impacted processes and end to end client journeys.

    • Leading the development and evaluation of alternatives for key decisions impacting assigned initiatives.

    • Ensuring benefits realization reporting frameworks are defined and implemented for applicable initiatives.

  • Monitor the market and competitive environment (consumer, technology, competition and government/regulatory agencies) and use insights to develop innovative concepts that help to  protect / grow our payments franchise.

  • Develop and evaluate payments innovation concepts for CIBC retail clients including concept ideation, design, testing, feasibility analysis and executive alignment.

  • Contribute to development of intellectual capital as well as general base of payments insight and superior knowledge of the team.

Project Management -

  • Evaluate definition and prioritization of initiative work packages and monitor their progress to ensure successful delivery of assigned initiatives.

  • Provide regular updates to Management and Senior Leadership, proactively raising and working with executives to resolve key issues impacting the initiative.
