What you'll be doing

As a member of the Cards Acquisition team, the Group Product Manager, Cards Acquisition, Digital Channels will be responsible for the development and completion of strategic initiatives for new cards acquisition across all digital channels including cibc.com, paid media, SEO, targeted channels, partnerships, and affiliates. You’ll be making recommendations and developing Cards Acquisition offers, campaigns, and initiatives in digital channels. Responsibilities include managing and implementing key client acquisition and revenue enhancement strategies to maximize cardholder profitability. In addition, ensuring CIBC remains competitive in the marketplace including: managing & monitoring key business metrics (new credit card sales, approval rates, booking rates, activation rates, and utilization rates), optimizing the annual marketing media budget, evaluating and sizing new credit card sales opportunities, and identifying opportunities within existing processes and systems for improvement and optimization. You’ll drive innovation across areas of responsibility, apply expert interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

How you'll succeed

Strategy and Planning – Contribute to long-term strategy for the business in collaboration with the Director and other business leaders. Perform in-depth analysis for the purpose of identifying opportunities, developing strategic proposals and competitive strategies and targets the cards acquisition offering with the objective of improving sales, increasing business revenue and profitability, competitiveness, growing market share and reducing operational costs. Collaborate with internal partners to oversee, communicate, and align business plans and ensure delivery on strategy and plans.  

Leadership - Manage and own final accountability for client acquisition strategic plan and initiatives for all consumer credit card products. Continuously monitor and interpret business results against key performance targets to recommend growth initiatives. Responsible for the overall design, development and implementation of new offer, campaigns, and cards acquisition plans. Accountable for the planning and delivery of enhancements for cards acquisition in digital channels across all client segments. Contribute to the creation of business cases for new initiatives and enhancements.

Relationship Management – Meet business objectives by managing relationships and working effectively with internal and external partners to ensure alignment of cards acquisition strategies being implemented. Partners include Digital, Marketing, Technology, Risk Management, Finance, Legal and Compliance, other lines of businesses, and business partners.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate extensive experience in product management, strategic planning, and project management sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives (experience preferably in financial services).  You have strong analytical, problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills sufficient to prepare and present material to an executive audience. Strong understanding of digital marketing, with a focus on acquisition strategies, SEO, digital advertising platforms, and performance tracking tools is an asset.
