It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world's relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We've been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.
The Role
We are looking for a Governance Lead to manage the day to day management and oversight of Cash App's governance frameworks. You Will

  • Work with compliance leads to support administration of the Cash Compliance compliance program
  • Oversee meetings/channels that demonstrate governance and oversight within our program, including documenting artifacts, taking notes/meeting minutes, and following up on action items
  • Develop frameworks for, and ensure execution of, effective change management processes
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive examination response structure, including management of inquiries, artifact collection and retention, tracking response review and submission, and maintaining a comprehensive department examination inquiry reporting regimen
  • Collect and package examination artifacts in response to audit or exam requests
  • Lead from behind to achieve buy-in, task completion, and review to facilitate timely actions
  • Maintain an understanding of Cash App products and features and applicable domestic and international compliance requirements
  • Stay informed of regulatory developments, industry trends and Block product road maps to ensure the training program(s) are up-to-date

You Have

  • 6+ years experience in the governance of an anti-money laundering and/or consumer protection program within the financial services space
  • 4+ years experience in a project or program management-based role and compliance roles, with demonstrated ability to anticipate and prioritize
  • Knowledge of examination and auditing processes, including response urgency and the development of effective management action plans
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Experience facilitating and holding divergent conversations with senior management
  • Knowledge in Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML), OFAC, FINRA, regulations, risks and typologies
  • Experience recognizing risk or issues and escalating them to the appropriate partners
  • Ability to prioritize across competing deadlines and influence cross-functionally
  • Relevant industry certification a plus, such as PMP, PPM, CAMS, CFCS, CFE, or CRCM
