Our team of engineers, at all levels, work with the business leaders in defining the product roadmap and come up with innovative solutions to grow the future of travel. We design and develop our back end systems and REST APIs that serve hundreds of millions of searches a day, collecting and parsing data across thousands of partners to get the best deals for our customers.

In this role, you will get to:

  • Contribute to critical business projects with a direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business

  • Innovate with a cross-functional agile team to meet critical product objectives.

  • Showcase strong fluency in Core Java and backend development, while applying knowledge of front-end technologies like Node.js, JavaScript, and GraphQL

  • Bring in industry best practices and influence the organization.

  • Utilize your development and analytical skills to build product features with continuous integration and automation testing.

  • Apply your engineering skills to build efficient, cloud-based services, focusing on performance and scalability.

  • Use your expertise to understand our systems and business requirements, effectively driving changes and improvements.

  • Communicate your technical insights clearly, guiding team decisions and stakeholder understanding.

  • Bring in and influence the best development practices within the team and the broader organization.

  • Effectively collaborate and engage in team efforts, speak up for what you think are the best solutions and be able to converse respectfully and compromise when necessary.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development, focusing on JVM languages.

  • Exceptional coding experience with Core Java and similar programming languages.

  • Understanding of authentication, authorization, and application security best practices.

  • Willingness to influence best practices to the developer community.

  • Basic SQL composition skills for composing queries and analysis

  • Experience with Spring Framework, Web Services, APIs, and cloud environments (GCP, AWS).

  • Expertise in the use of Git and Gitflow.

  • Knowledge of Microservices, Kubernetes (GKE preferable), and Docker.

  • Understanding of GraphQL and API management best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with server-side JavaScript and Node. js is a plus.

  • A passion for continuous learning and professional growth.

Flexible work at Priceline

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
