Who we need

Reporting to the Director of IT & Fraud, we are hiring a Fraud Product and Operations Lead. You will work with a team focused on identifying, investigating, and preventing fraud across the Scene+ loyalty ecosystem. You will analyze fraud journeys, identify emerging risks and patterns, and strengthen the controls, processes, and technologies that protect loyalty redemptions while balancing fraud prevention with the member experience. You will also contribute fraud expertise to the design of scalable, well-structured solutions aligned with our Fraud Target Operating Model (fTOM), helping Scene+ evolve its fraud capabilities as the program continues to grow.

This posting is for a full-time, hybrid role, working three days per week on-site at our Toronto office. with weekend availability required occasionally.

What's in it for you

Innovation and evolution. You will help evolve how fraud is managed across Scene+, working at the intersection of fraud operations, product, technology, data, and security. From refining fraud rules and reducing false positives to introducing automation and exploring AI-enabled capabilities, you will turn emerging risks and trends into practical solutions that improve fraud prevention and the member experience.

Growth and exposure. You will deepen your expertise across fraud strategy, operations, technology, automation, and risk while gaining broad exposure across Scene+ and its partner ecosystem. As the program continues to grow and fraud challenges evolve, you will have opportunities to take ownership of increasingly complex initiatives and expand your scope and expertise.

As our new Fraud Product and Operations Lead, you will focus on:

  • Fraud Investigation. You will review fraud reported adjustments to identify anomalies that require further investigation, review suspicious activity to prevent potential fraud and action escalated cases that are reported by members.
  • Fraud management. You will manage and maintain fraud detection and prevention systems. You will monitor and analyze suspicious activities, providing timely responses to fraud alerts. You will collaborate with the security team to enhance fraud prevention measures.
  • Fraud prevention strategies. You will work closely with our fraud prevention platform to assess performance of established rules and filters and re-configure as and when required to reduce false positive rates and identify suspicious activity proactively.
  • Fraud operations. You will interpret fraud trends, behavioral signals, and operational data to uncover root causes and patterns. You will use these insights to recommend targeted controls, new rules, and AI features that reduce losses, optimize customer experience, and support data-driven decision-making across delivery, risk and technology teams.  Help analyze accounts and transactions to identify and predict risky behavior that could result in losses and implement preventative measures to address rising fraud concerns to cover an increasingly large and complex landscape of member journeys.
  • Collaboration. You will work closely with other departments such as Cybersecurity, Legal and Member services as well as partner fraud departments to resolve fraud issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Automation. You will leverage automation within the fraud day-to-day monitoring as well as within the fraud prevention platform to streamline investigative workflows, reporting and enhance fraud monitoring capabilities.
  • Policies and procedures. You will contribute to the enhancement of the fraud operational playbook on a regular basis and ensure it is in alignment with all impacted parties as well as adhere to set IT security policies and procedures.

You bring:

  • The fraud expertise. You have experience working with fraud prevention platforms, including configuring rules, monitoring performance, and managing or improving fraud detection processes. You understand fraud operations and how to investigate suspicious activity, identify patterns, and translate emerging risks into practical prevention strategies.
  • The analytical and technical skills. You are naturally curious and enjoy digging into data and fraud journeys to uncover root causes, understand behaviours, and prevent recurring issues. You bring strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable using data to inform decisions and improve controls. Experience with SQL or Python is an asset.
  • The collaboration and communication skills. You can balance fraud prevention with the member experience, bringing sound judgment, urgency, and empathy to your work. You can manage competing priorities, collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, and translate complex fraud risks and findings into clear recommendations.
  • The additional expertise. Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) accreditation through the ACFE is an asset but is not required.

Compensation

At Scene+, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and market competitive. Our salary ranges are designed to represent the progression from learning the role to truly mastering it. 

This role has a minimum base salary of $100K and a maximum base salary of $130K. Our approach to compensation supports each person’s unique knowledge, skills, abilities, complexity of the role and balances it with internal equity to support a fair and competitive salary. The higher end of the range is reserved for those who have demonstrated deep expertise, while offers closer to the minimum reflect strong potential with room to develop.
