Working with the Firmware team, the student will work closely with members of the team to improve our system integration testing platform. This is a full-time position for the duration of a work term.

This position is for someone in a computer science or engineering program to learn about working as part of a technical team. You will be exposed to embedded products, their design and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and testing of firmware for various safety devices.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with hardware components.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards.
  • Debug existing firmware and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
  • Document design processes, test cases, and results.
  • Support the team in researching new technologies and tools to enhance firmware capabilities.
  • Contribute to team meetings and provide updates on project progress.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • Experience using C/C++ in an embedded environment
  • Experience working with an embedded RTOS
  • Experience writing low level drivers
  • Object Oriented Design and Development experience
