Job Title: Financial Analyst 

 
Job Summary 
Under general supervision, responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial and economic analysis projects. Analyze the accounting and financial records of the company to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.  

 
Responsibility 
  • Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.  
  • Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.  
  • Review the accounting for small Linamar companies, including preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.  
  • Support the close process for various aspects of the income statement and balance sheet utilizing various ERP systems and consolidation systems.  
  • Prepare consolidated financial reporting and analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis, including preparing presentations to upper management.  
  • Assist with financial statement note disclosures for interim and annual financial statements.  
  • Assist with the forecast and budget consolidation processes.  
  • Support the year end audit process from a consolidated perspective.  
  • Interact with finance and cross-functional departments to support Linamar’s overall goals and objectives.  

 
Academic/Educational Requirements  
  • A university degree in Accounting, Business or a related discipline is required.  
  • Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in the CPA program. 

 
Required Skills/Experience 
  • Three to five years of significant related financial experience.  
  • Ability to interpret graphs displaying revenues, expenses, liabilities and assets to analyze key economic and treasury trends.  
  • Co-ordinate financial planning and budget process and analyze and correct estimates.  
  • Evaluate the accuracy of prospectuses and financial records such as financial statements and balance sheets before approving them.  
  • Highly analytical with sound business judgement, proven documentation skills and attention to detail. Ability to evaluate financial reporting systems, accounting procedures and investment activities and make recommendations for changes to procedures and operating systems as needed.  
  • Ability to discuss observations of financial information with management.  
  • Interact with others in a team and act as liaison between different departments.  
  • Ability to work in a fully computerized environment including advanced Excel and Word skills, knowledge of BPC SAP, Onestream and IFS systems is an asset.  
  • Continuously maintain current knowledge of all organizational accounting practices through seminars, webinars and professional conferences as needed.  
  • Ability to mentor work of junior staff members, including review of work and coaching through technical and soft skills  
  • Integrate tasks with co-workers, supervisors and managers to observe accounting and administrative requirements and meet deadlines.
