JOB SUMMARY:

Max Insurance is looking for a for a talented and driven Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, the Financial Analyst will play a vital part in supporting the Finance team’s accounting operations and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in core finance functions, including monthly, quarterly, and regulatory financial reporting.
  • Support day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Assist with the preparation of journal entries and prepare account reconciliations, ensuring that accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Prepare annual audit working papers and liaise with external audit team.
  • Prepare analysis of movement in accounts period over period.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency improvements; and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and/or prepare ad hoc financial analysis
  • Assist accounting Management with day-to-day tasks and special requests.
  • Work with all departments within the organization to support the finance function.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • You have a minimum of three years’ experience in accounting.
  • You have a CPA designation.
  • P&C insurance knowledge is an asset.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite is an asset.
  • You have IFRS experience.
  • You have an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You have excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • You have strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • You have exceptional attention to detail.
  • You have the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines.
