The Canadian Tire FP&A team plays a critical role in enabling strong financial performance in an evolving retail environment You will partner closely with the Finance team to understand results, deliver actionable insights, and influence business decisions. 

What you'll do:
  • Support the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process for the SC&T cost centers
  • Analyze transportation and logistics costs, including freight, fuel, and carrier expenses, and identify trends and variances
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) with clear, actionable commentary
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Transportation operations teams to understand cost drivers and support decision-making
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate transportation network costs, route optimization initiatives, and vendor/carrier contracts
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost per unit shipped, cost as a % of volume, and other operational efficiency metrics
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and business cases to support capital and operational investment decisions
  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals and journal entries related to SC&T costs
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in reporting and analysis workflows
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems and reporting tools

What you'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related finance role
  • Working towards or holding a professional accounting/finance designation (CPA, CFA, or equivalent) considered an asset
  • Strong Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas); experience with Power BI or similar BI tools is a plus
  • Experience with ERP/financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Our typical hiring range is between $53,000.00 and $88,000.00 CAD Annual. The target salary range is between $65,000 and $75,000.00 CAD Annual. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
