Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary
As an integral member of the Grants Management team within the Research Financial Services department, the Financial Analyst I performs a range of detailed accounting activities and advisory functions requiring sound professional judgment to ensure day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with the established accounting principles and institutional policies for research grant and project accounts.
Duties
- Cheque Deposits: Ensure timely and accurate processing of cheque deposits
- Portfolio Management: Assist with responsibilities associated with a portfolio as required, ensuring seamless operations and client satisfaction, including generating grant financial reports, reconciliations and monthly journal entries
- Account Closures: Manage the closing of accounts with precision and adherence to company policies.
- Perform cross-functional duties and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
- At a minimum, Community college diploma (three years) in Accounting/Finance or equivalent program
- Two (2) years of related experience in an accounting environment with exposure to a range of basic accounting practices, procedures and principles
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent client service and satisfaction
- Skill in performing detailed numerical computations and accurate data entry
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with strong organization and time management skills
- Strong knowledge of computer application accounting systems & software applications, preferably in a Microsoft Office environment (i.e., Excel, Word, Access)
- Experience with Grant accounting preferred
