Role Overview:
The Finance Manager, Retail Sales acts as a key business partner for Customer Business Team (CBT). They proactively drive business decisions within CBT. Together with the Sales Leadership team defines customer strategy, manages financial performance, pricing action and trade efficiency optimization, trade ROI and defines risks and opportunities. Drives financial agenda and processes including budgeting, forecasting, business performance review, financial controls, risk management and efficiency of Trade spend.
Responsibilities:
Retail Sales Finance

  • P&L ownership for all items impacting Net Sales Volume including Gross Sales Volume, fixed and variable trade, returns & allowances, and fines.
  • Serve as a key business partner for the sales teams on accounting and finance related questions.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between field sales, Business Units, Supply Chain and Revenue Management to ensure effective communication and execution of trade strategies.
  • Utilize analytical frameworks and ROI analysis to identify opportunities to optimize pricing/promotion.
  • Support the annual planning process through validation of YOY drivers of demand, trade budgeting, and assist the development of initiatives to achieve targets.
  • Develop and maintain financial controls to ensure visibility to and accuracy of the monthly trade spend forecast.
  • Provide customer specific external analysis to identify pricing opportunities or risks such as value to market and competitor price gaps.
  • Lead cross functional planning and support Retail Sales teams across Total Retail business in execution of Category strategies and opportunities (e.g. pricing, trade re-alignment, etc.); support identification and communication of CBT revenue and trade implications back to Category teams.
  • Provide FP&A support for the development of action plans to address risks and opportunities for CBT and customer performance.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, including forecasting/analyzing customer performance.
  • Own preparation of monthly customer profit & loss statements, including managing key inputs/outputs to financial models.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or Economics
  • 4+ years of experience with proven track record of delivering results in sales, finance, analytics
  • Sales and/or trade promotion experience strongly preferred
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to quickly learn analytical modeling tools and techniques
  • Disciplined approach toward execution, attention to detail, and ability to navigate within large and complex data environments
  • Ability to effectively summarize complex information upwards and influence sales leadership to drive appropriate action
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including reporting and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners
