This role directly reports to the Canada team Finance Manager and will provide assistance to the Finance and Operations team. The successful applicant will also provide support to the Group Reporting and Consolidation Team in the completion of the month end Capco Group consolidation process and external reporting. This involves communication with the wider Capco group (including our offshore function) as well as external auditors.

Let’s Get Down to Business  

Capco is looking for a Finance Analyst to join the team. This role will allow you to gain valuable work experience in accounting and finance within the fintech industry. You will work with experienced colleagues, be involved in the local and global finance function, and be a part of the Be Yourself At Work culture, where you will have an impact and grow on an individual level. 

Responsibilities  

  • Prepare and post journal entries 
  • Reconcile accounts including unbilled revenue, discount provision, deferred revenue 
  • Analyse and provide commentaries on aging of unbilled revenue 
  • Analyse prior month over/under accrual related to revenue 
  • Follow up with individuals to revise prior month timesheets based on over/under analysis 
  • Work closely with the local and global team to support the month end close, banking and AR process 
  • Prepare wire/EFT payments 
  • Assist in preparing monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and other reports to Global 
  • Support the quarterly audit and SOX process by gathering requested documents and providing answers to external auditors 
  • Prepare sales tax remittances and act as a liaison between Capco and CRA or other government agencies 
  • Prepare and maintain training manuals 
  • Recommend and implement improvements to current processes

Candidates for this position will have some or all the following skills and experience:  

  • 1+ year relevant professional experience  
  • Completion of an accounting or finance degree 
  • Working towards an accounting designation (ie. CPA) would be an asset 
  • Previous roles in the financial services, consulting or fintech industry are considered an asset 
  • Strong Excel knowledge  
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Anaplan an asset 
  • Ability to work in a hybrid working environment 
  • Possess superb written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate well with people at all levels of the company 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Proactive and independent worker who also is a team player that can build strong relationships with stakeholders 
  • Embrace a strong desire to learn new concepts, tools, and industry trends 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks 
  • Possess a high level of integrity and a results-driven orientation
