What we offer:Job Responsibilities:
Wage Range: 85 - 95K/Annually
- Conduct cost analysis for estimate versus actuals to improve estimating cost models for all product lines we manufacture or outsource
- Continually evaluate market trends to establish market values
- Create and maintain tooling matrices for price comparison and “cost walk” exercises
- Create Global RFQs (Request for Quotation) to be sent out to strategic partners in tooling for quotation
- Develop and complete objectives that fit the challenges and priorities of the business plan
- Develop conceptual tool layout from supplied part data/sketches/part prints including all required actions for demold
- Developing new cost models for future product lines
- Document concerns and assumptions for each tool with options
- Ensure a description of unwanted results or impact of the problem is clearly communicated as part of the problem solving process
- Ensure the effective communication of the scheduled day-to-day work, and expected results of all tasks to meet all quotation deadlines
- Ensure the Quick Quote Book and Market price calculator is up-to-date and actuate containing all quotation related information
- Interface with customers to manage relationships and clearly understand scope of estimating projects
- Learn to estimate new tool packages taking into consideration all variables of the quoting process (exchange rates, materials, labor etc.) to understand true cost for the purpose of generating customer quotes
- Participate in training of individuals to investigate costs and timing associated with the new ideas
- Possess a complete and comprehensive knowledge of GSS as it pertains to the importing of Cost Models and other quotations and making required changes with the adding or subtracting of components
- Prepare and present and review comprehensive analysis for comparing quoted materials and hours against the actual job performance. Provide trends and directional information to the management team which will highlight errors / continuous improvement to reduce costs
- Review each completed tool to estimate and make recommendations; document concerns
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and/or 8 years Tool Designer experience (preferably with large tooling)
- Toolmaker Certificate, an asset
Experience:
- Extensive mold design experience (large size tooling) with an emphasis on part/tooling feasibility
Skills:
- Proficient in use of CAD software for evaluating and storing of data files, draft analysis and cutting section views
- Proficient in use of CAD software including the creation of 3D surface/solid models
- Complete and comprehensive knowledge of the estimating and program management processes
- Complete knowledge of theories and principals used in mould design, build and machining processes, and an understanding of the differences between the injections moulding process, RIM moulding process, and various specialized moulding or forming processes
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills (including VBA capability)
- Sound financial and business knowledge Excellent multi-tasker
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written
- Communication in a second language (Spanish, Mandarin, German), an asset
Competencies:
- Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills
