Title: ERP Business Analyst (Contract)

We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) who possesses extensive knowledge of financial accounting processes, systems, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with systems conversions and implementations. As a member of the implementation team, the BA will analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and contribute to designing, implementing, and optimizing the capabilities of the new ERP system. This position is suited for a BA who can serve as a resource across all elements of the project as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:Requirements Gathering & DocumentationAnalyze existing business processes to identify gaps or inefficiencies and propose targeted solutions for improvement.
Assist the project team in achieving the transformation and automation goals set for the initiative.
Convert gathered business requirements into comprehensive functional specifications and designs.
Collaborate with systems integrators and Finance subject matter experts to design and validate configurations, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational needs.
Challenge and refine design decisions to ensure they are in line with the organization's objectives, and that control and audit requirements are satisfied.
Assist in planning, executing, and validating tests to confirm the system operates correctly and delivers intended value.
Participate in defect triage and maintain traceability from requirements to outcomes.
Support the planning and execution of system cutover activities.
Support data migration activities, including planning, cleansing, mapping, and validation.
Collaborate on integrations between sub-ledger systems and external vendors.
Assist with the design and retrofit of reports as needed.
Participate in change management initiatives, end-user training, and provide support during go-live phases as required.
At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting.
In-depth functional understanding of Finance processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Fixed Assets, Procurement, Budgeting, and Forecasting.
Previous experience with systems conversion projects.
Demonstrated ability in requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and data migration.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Technical writing proficiency for creating detailed documentation and specifications.
