What you will do

Build on established customer relationships, sell commercial HVAC equipment, and grow your earnings through account development and new business.

Johnson Controls is looking for an Equipment Sales Representative for Hamilton and surrounding areas. You will work with mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and building owners, primarily growing inherited accounts while identifying additional projects and customers.

This role suits someone who turns technical conversations into business: asking about upcoming projects, explaining equipment choices clearly, and following opportunities through to a decision.

How you will do it

· Develop accounts through customer visits, useful project discussions, and reliable follow-through; identify opportunities to expand the relationship and win additional business.

· Support consultants with design and equipment selection early in projects, including basis-of-design work and relevant additional equipment lines.

· Deliver product presentations and lunch-and-learns that help customers understand applications, options, and value.

· Prepare proposals, negotiate, and close orders while protecting margin and making realistic customer commitments.

· Work regularly with counterparts in the Equipment, Controls, Service, and Project Management line of business on shared opportunities and responsibilities.

· Manage your Salesforce pipeline independently, explain deal progress and blockers, and use activity and opportunity data to improve your approach.

· Resolve customer roadblocks and provide clear turnovers so PMs understand sold scope, commitments, exclusions, and open issues.

What we look for

· Evidence of developing customer relationships and growing technical-product sales. HVAC/mechanical equipment sales is ideal; adjacent technical sales and relevant mechanical backgrounds are welcome. Familiarity with JCI/YORK, chillers, fan coils, or comparable equipment is an asset.

· You learn technical products, explain complex concepts simply, and confidently initiate customer conversations, calls, visits, and presentations.

· You organize your pipeline and commitments, follow deals through, and collaborate across shared opportunities while maintaining customer trust.

Required

· 3+ years of successful field technical sales experience or 3+ years of mechanical engineering professional experience

· Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business.

· Bachelor’s degree

Preferred

· Commercial HVAC industry experience
