Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned engineer to join our Enterprise Data Platform Engineering team. As a key member of McAfee’s enterprise data platform engineering team, you will be responsible for the following areas:
• Platform management
• DevOps best practices
• Platform automation
• CI/CD
• Uptime management
This is a remote position based in Canada. We will only consider candidates in Canada and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.
This is a Hybrid position in Canada. Candidates who live within commutable distance of Waterloo or Toronto are preferred. You will be required to be onsite from time to time as determined by the needs of the business (Avg. 4 to 12 days a month). We are only considering candidates located in Canada and are not providing relocation at this time.

About the Role:

  • Manage, maintain, and oversee DevOps activities on AWS and Databricks platform.
  • Act as the responsible party for the reliability and uptime of the platform; manage the platform to minimize downtime and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Manage and implement the configuration of Databricks clusters, oversee deployments, and optimize workload performance.
  • Provide oversight and thought leadership on quality automation, RPA, and data observability on the platform.
  • Maintain and manage infrastructure for platform tools such as Collibra, Airflow, Hightouch.
  • Understand the data lifecycle and implement governance around access, security, usage, compliance documentation, deprecation, etc.
  • Support access and provisioning management, ensuring adherence to SDLC best practices.

About You:

  • Bring 4+ years of experience in DevOps, platform management, automation, and site reliability engineering.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Databricks, or other related technologies are highly desirable.
  • Experience in DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, IaC, and automation frameworks.
  • Any additional certifications in data management, data governance, or related fields will be considered a plus.
  • Have hands-on experience with at least 5 of the following:
    • Databricks and data platform reliability
    • Collibra or other data catalog tool
    • Data processing tools such as Spark/SQL/SparkSQL/Flink
    • Python, PySpark, Scala, or similar programming language
    • Access management and provisioning
    • Apache Airflow
    • IaC and CI/CD pipelines
    • Agile, Git, and version control
