We are looking for an iOS Engineering Lead to define and drive the technical vision for iOS development within their product area. This position will be Full-Time and Hybrid.
Due to our end client, candidates must be able to work on CAI's W2 without a need for sponsorship now or in the future.
What You’ll Do
Define and drive the technical vision for iOS and React Native development across the product area
Architect robust, scalable, and performant native iOS and cross-platform mobile solutions
Establish and enforce best practices for performance, scalability, security, and code quality
Lead technical decision-making and evaluate new technologies for the iOS and React Native platforms
Create technical design specifications and translate high-level architecture into working software
Lead feature development and enhancements for iOS applications, including React Native cross-platform implementations
Deep expertise in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI with a strong understanding of Objective-C
Proficiency in React Native and modern cross-platform mobile development workflows
Implement modern app architectures (MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture)
Leverage Swift Concurrency (async/await) and modern iOS technologies
Optimize for performance, concurrency, and multithreading across native and cross-platform environments
Build custom UI components with strong attention to UI/UX and accessibility
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)
Manage App Store submission and deployment processes
Ensure strong testing practices across unit, UI, and automated test suites (XCTest, XCUITest)
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using profiling and memory optimization tools across native and React Native layers
Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and maintainability
Mentor and guide iOS and React Native developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical coaching
Foster continuous improvement in engineering practices, tooling, and workflows
Collaborate closely with product, design, and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, backlog refinement) to ensure overall engineering progress aligns with roadmaps and timelines
Maintain awareness of engineering health across all technology layers of the product — not just iOS
Identify cross-layer risks, dependencies, and blockers; escalate proactively
Facilitate collaboration across technology layers to resolve cross-cutting concerns
Ensure that the iOS team's work integrates cleanly with APIs, backend services, and other client platforms
Stay current with iOS, React Native, and mobile ecosystem trends
Evaluate emerging frameworks and methodologies (Kotlin Multiplatform, new React Native architecture — TurboModules, Fabric)
Drive adoption of modern iOS and cross-platform technologies and development patterns
What You'll Need
Required
7+ years of hands-on mobile development with deep iOS expertise
2+ years in a lead or technical leadership role
Expert proficiency in Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and strong understanding of Objective-C
Proficiency in React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern cross-platform development workflows
Strong understanding of modern mobile architectures (MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture)
Expertise in performance optimization, concurrency, and multithreading across native and cross-platform environments
Strong UI/UX understanding, accessibility knowledge, and custom component development
Proficiency with Git and version control workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based)
Experience with CI/CD tools (Bitrise, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)
Experience with testing frameworks (XCTest, XCUITest)
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Experience with cloud platforms (Firebase, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
Knowledge of App Store submission processes
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with product, design, and delivery teams
Strong end-to-end accountability and a track record of taking delivery fully to completion
Clear ownership mindset — not someone who leaves delivery responsibility with another organization
Solid experience working with offshore teams and driving work through closure across distributed teams
Scope control and management
Experience building, leading, or scaling development teams
Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams or product lines
Preferred
Familiarity with additional cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform)
Experience architecting large-scale, multi-platform mobile solutions
Strong understanding of mobile security best practices
Experience with advanced performance profiling and memory optimization tools
Familiarity with modern React Native architecture (TurboModules, Fabric)
Physical Demands
