About the team

Stripe Tax Platform is at the core of Stripe Tax and our growth journey. Our value proposition in Tax is taking a large, disjoint set of regional laws and systems and making them approachable for our users. As part of this, the Platform team delivers Tax compute, enabling performant at-scale calculation of sales tax. The Platform team drives growth through supporting additional tax jurisdictions (over 12,000 in the US alone, and over 90 countries), new tax types (such as regional delivery taxes, or amusement taxes), and new categories of products and services. In addition, the team builds tools for managing the extensive set of tax rules, systems to more precisely determine user location (and thus tax jurisdiction), and is building true platform level support for our users. Lastly, and most importantly, the team is highly engaged with external users and lock-step in their growth plans, and across many teams within Stripe on tax works for our users.
