About the Position
As an Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in leading and scaling our engineering team, overseeing the development of our Platform - a unified solution that powers cost-efficient, large-scale ML training and inference on GPU clusters across multiple cloud providers. This is a player-coach role: you'll spend approximately 50%+ of your time designing and coding, while leading a small, high-caliber team.
What you’ll do
Technical Strategy & Execution:
- Design, build, and review critical full-stack Platform components, ensuring high quality across both front-end and back-end systems.
- Work with engineering and product teams on the technical direction of Platform, making strategic decisions about architecture, tools, and processes to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.

Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and career development support to team members, helping them achieve their professional goals.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and meet high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with product management, research, and other cross-functional teams to define project requirements, establish priorities, and set realistic timelines.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Drive a quality-first mindset across engineering, product, and design efforts, balancing technical innovation with intuitive, user-centered experiences and ensuring every deliverable meets high standards of performance, scalability, and usability.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Background in software engineering, with significant experience in building and scaling products
- Deep proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Java, with strong experience in algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., Typescript, Javascript) and frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) would be a plus.
- Ability to collaborate closely with design teams to translate UI/UX wireframes into functional front-end code
- Extensive experience with software development tools, frameworks, and methodologies, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and code review processes.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch.)
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and large-scale infrastructure.
- Ability to inspire, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving long-term business goals.
