About the Role

As a System Analysis Engineer, you will lead comprehensive, high-level root cause investigations for field-returned components. You will evaluate part behavior through bench testing and identified failure modes, and coordinate cross-functional analysis efforts by assigning targeted tasks to hardware and software engineering teams.  This role is part of the Regional Warranty Center, located in Southfield, Michigan, and reports directly to the Regional Warranty Manager. You will collaborate closely with Divisional Warranty teams, Product Warranty Engineers, Software Analysis Engineers, and Hardware Analysis Engineers to drive accurate diagnostics, ensure timely issue resolution, and support continuous product improvement.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis by testing at bench level, understanding and verifying the reported customer behavior, and identifying potential causes from our product to trigger it.

  • Follow up on analysis steps from Hardware and Software analysis and report findings once a root cause is identified.

  • Report analysis steps on warranty management tool.

  • Collaborate with Product Warranty Engineers to ensure structured problem solving is followed in root cause investigation

Who we are looking for

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive electronics warranty analysis or related field with knowledge of North American, European, or Asian OEM warranty processes, systems, and tools.

  • Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies to complex automotive electronic systems.

  • Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, CAN tools, or data acquisition systems.

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with hardware, software, and product engineering teams.

  • Experience documenting findings and tracking investigations within issue management systems.

  • Strong track record of identifying and reducing NTF conditions through systematic investigation and continuous improvement efforts.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Red X Problem Solving certification

  • Cross functional experience in manufacturing or R&D (Product Engineering areas), including systems testing

  • Knowledge of CQI-14
