Job Summary
Responsible for designing new products and improving/maintaining existing products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, proficiency in design software, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibility
- Develop and design new products, components, and systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Create detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineers, production, and other stakeholders to refine designs and address technical challenges.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prototype testing to validate design concepts.
- Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure designs are produced accurately and efficiently.
Academic/Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Certification from a professional engineering body would be considered an asset.
Required Skills/Experience
- 5-7 year of proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
