Specifications and Training Requirements
· College/university education in a related field required.
· 2 years of experience using Eplan P8
· 2 years of experience working for an automotive OEM
· Good knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
· Familiar with Microsoft Office with strong knowledge of Excel
· Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
· Ability to read and interpret technical data from component data sheets.
· Strong attention to detail
· Self-Starter. Ability to multi-task, work as a team member and individually.
· Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple designers simultaneously.
· Good communication skills.
· Good interpersonal and organizational skills required.
· Knowledge of all GM standards would be an asset
· Orientation, WHMIS
· ISO 9001 Awareness and Developmental Policy and Procedure Requirements, On-the-job development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with Controls Designers to prepare schematics for large automotive projects.
· Create electrical schematics using EPLAN P8 and/or AutoCAD.
· Size cables and circuit protection devices to meet all local electrical codes.
· Ensure components selected are compatible with the control system.
· Produce scale panel layout drawings for build by third party panel shops.
· Answer questions related to the electrical drawings/design.
· Produce accurate BOMs containing all parts required for the panel build and the line build.
· Track revisions and update drawings as and when changes are made.
