What You'll Bring:

  • MBA degree with global strategy experience or experience with strategy consulting would be preferred.
  • At least 8-10 years of related experience, driving strategic initiatives with focus on M&A.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity with a successful track record of driving ideas to implementation.
  • Financial and/or credit industry subject matter expertise.
  • Knowledge about the credit reporting industry or International business planning experience
  • Must have business planning experience along with strong facilitation skills.
  • A high degree of computer literacy and expertise is required.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Good project management capabilities and high attention to detail; comfortable working under deadlines and producing key deliverables.
  • Sound business judgment and excellent problem solving and influencing skills.
  • Proficient financial, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to quickly grasp industry and business-wide concepts in order to assess implications to drive actions and to capitalize on opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience in providing crisp, insightful information to executive teams.


Impact You'll Make:
The Director, Strategy & Planning will identify, evaluate and develop new go-to market strategies focusing on opportunities to grow TransUnion's Canada business. To be successful in the role you will be a true strategic thinker with subject matter expertise in Financial Services. The incumbent will lead the business planning process and ongoing planning activities as well as development of growth strategy for Canada. They will collaborate with the local leadership as well as with matrix to facilitate strategy and planning sessions and to enable global IP transfer, and work with the executive team to plan and develop long-term goals and short-term objectives. They will also act in a chief of staff capacity, preparing board documents, CEO reports and preparing leaders for key stakeholder events.

  • Leads execution of business plans and key initiatives.
  • Tracks competition and identifies threats and opportunities.
  • Provides a critical thinking forum for International leadership.
  • Builds trusted relationships with product and industry experts as well as other key decision makers to gather insights and develop actionable go-to market plans.
  • Collaborates with the International markets to create and maintain business plans that have clear and measurable targets. Develops and delivers senior-level presentations for the short-term and long-range plans.
  • Designs, facilitates and manages the strategic planning process in line with International objectives. Drives the pre- and post-meeting work involved for all planning sessions.
  • Supports business case development for new opportunities and partners with regional Product heads, COE heads and with global knowledge experts to facilitate and enable import/export of global IP.
  • May facilitate development and execution of integration plans for any acquisitions.
  • Continually assess cross-industry best practices, new business models and techniques to enhance current International planning practices. Integrate creativity into strategy formulation and execution.
  • Executes ad hoc strategic analysis for the leadership team. Gathers competitive intelligence on an ongoing basis, monitors strategy, and predicts competitive response for key competitors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
