Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

The Director, SMB Regional Sales is a senior, hands-on leadership role focused on merchant-facing and partner-facing engagement. This role leads the SMB Regional Sales Channel and owns net-new merchant acquisition and sustained expansion of Moneris’ SMB processing portfolio across Canada. Success is driven through selling integrated commerce solutions that help merchants get paid, operate efficiently, and grow.

Leading regional sales teams across multiple Canadian markets, this role is accountable for delivering scalable revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability. The Director balances execution with cross-functional influence, drives disciplined sales operations, and leads change while maintaining strong engagement and performance. The role embeds The Challenger Sale as the core selling and coaching methodology, shifting teams toward insight-led selling, commercial discipline, and differentiated value delivery.

Location: You will report into our Etobicoke office but will work remotely.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to VP, Sales SMB.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Lead regional SMB sales teams to deliver net-new merchant acquisition, revenue growth, profitability, and market share targets across Canadian markets.

  • Establish and enforce prospecting, pipeline coverage, conversion, and forecasting standards that drive consistent, scalable sales performance.

  • Increase penetration of bundled commerce solutions, including payments, POS, ecommerce, and value-added services, while maintaining pricing discipline and revenue quality.

  • Ensure effective use of Salesforce to manage funnel visibility, forecasting accuracy, win/loss insights, and performance coaching.

  • Reduce time-to-activation and early-life churn by improving qualification quality, implementation readiness, and onboarding execution for new merchants.

  • Partner with shareholder banks to execute high-value initiatives, meet service-level commitments, and deliver joint prospecting and co-selling outcomes.

  • Build and expand strategic relationships with third-party partners, including Independent Software Vendors and technology providers, to accelerate acquisition through integrated solutions.

  • Develop, coach, and retain high-performing sales leaders and teams, improving ramp time, productivity, engagement, and retention of top performers.

Required skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field.

  • MBA considered a strong asset.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in sales leadership, business development, or strategic account management.

  • 5–7+ years of people leadership experience managing geographically dispersed teams.

  • Knowledge of sales management methodologies, reporting tools, and strategic selling frameworks.

  • Financial acumen with experience in budget planning and cost reporting.

  • Salesforce CRM experience, including pipeline management, forecasting, reporting, and sales performance analysis.

  • Experience using AI tools and data-driven insights to improve prospecting, qualification, and sales execution.
