  • Lead, coach, and develop the IT internal audit team, fostering strong audit judgment, technical capability, and professional growth.

  • Proactively identify emerging technology, cybersecurity, data, and regulatory risks, assessing potential impacts to OMERS and adjusting audit priorities accordingly.

  • Promote continuous improvement in audit methodology, use of data analytics, and technology-enabled auditing.

  • Prepare insightful audit reports for OMERS executives and the Audit & Risk Committee

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7+ years of internal or external audit experience, including demonstrated people leadership.

  • Strong understanding of internal audit standards, governance frameworks, and IT risk management practices; experience in pension funds, asset management, or financial services preferred.

  • Proven ability to communicate complex issues clearly and influence outcomes at senior and executive levels.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems, processes, and interdependencies.

  • Experience with data analytics and technology-enabled audit techniques considered a strong asset.
