Sundays for Dogs is a venture backed direct-to-consumer brand with the goal to make life easier on the modern dog parent so that they may spend more quality time with their dog.

We enable dog parents to not have to choose between quality and convenience when seeking the world’s best dog food. We are a team dedicated to the mission and consider ourselves skydivers, not plane passengers. We decide fast, fail fast and learn fast.

We are in search of a Director of Growth Marketing. In this role, you are the architect of profitable growth. Your north stars are CAC payback and LTV/CAC, not vanity ROAS. You’ll build the forecasting engine that tells us how aggressively we can pour fuel on the fire—then own the creative, channel mix, and experimentation that hit the numbers. Comfort in ambiguity, a bias for action, and a scientist’s obsession with causal lift tests are mandatory.

This role reports to our SVP of Marketing and will have 1 direct report. The team is fully remote, but gets together IRL about once a quarter.

90-Day Success Scorecard

  • Own Blended CAC while improving/maintaining LTV/CAC
  • +15 % lift in trial → subscription conversion
  • Dynamic forecast model live, updating daily, rolling into the monthly P&L

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the leading inputs of the full CAC⇄LTV model. Forecast, monitor, and improve payback across cohorts; pressure-test scenarios frequently.
  • Run the acquisition P&L. Budget, allocate, and re-forecast spend in real time across paid social, SEM, affiliates, CTV, podcasts, and whatever channel wins the next auction.
  • Obsess over the subscription funnel. Design and run experiments on pricing, offer structures, landing pages, and lifecycle hooks to maximize trial-to-sub conversion and retention.
  • Build the measurement machine. Partner with Data & Eng to ship tracking specs, incrementality tests, and causal-impact read-outs that inform our most valuable decisions.
  • Lead a portfolio of talent. Manage FTEs, agencies, and freelancers; coach them to think in unit economics, not channel silos.
  • Prototype and kill new channels fast. Spend the 10 % “R&D” budget like a VC—prove or move on (but with enough integrity to see the signal through the noise).
  • Close the creative loop. Source insights from monthly CX “ride-alongs” with real dog parents to fuel thumb-stopping creative that actually moves incrementality.
  • Report what matters. Turn data into narratives the Board cares about; own weekly growth memos with clear calls to double-down or pivot.

Experience & Skills We’re After:

  • 5-8 yrs DTC growth experience with proven CAC → LTV mastery in a subscription or high-repeat business.
  • Fluency in SQL, Looker/Mode, and Google Sheets modeling—you can build a cohort model before the coffee hits.
  • Hands-on-keyboard chops in at least one paid channel and a track record of scaling spend >$5 MM while improving payback windows.
  • Deep understanding of incrementality testing (geo, PSA, holdouts) and A/B frameworks.
  • Inspirational team leader and cross-functional partner who can translate math into creative briefs and product roadmaps.
  • Voracious learner with the humility to ditch a hypothesis the moment the data says so.
