This position will allow for remote work flexibility, but selected candidate will need to be local to Sacramento, CA office to attend meetings as needed.

Position Purpose: Represent Centene as a primary point-of-contact with government officials, congressional staff and agencies.

  • Direct the organization’s policies and objectives involving matters of government and regulations.
  • Provide policy expertise on the insurance industry, managed care, Medicare and Medicaid program, and Military Health.
  • Analyze proposed legislative actions and determine the potential impact on the organization.
  • Monitor legislative activities, regulatory activities, as well as print and media broadcast and help develop the company’s position.
  • Develop and implement the company’s comprehensive government relations strategies and policies to protect and promote business interests.
  • Collaborate with government officials to advance the company’s position.
  • Assist VP of Federal Affairs in developing and executing federal PAC strategy, targets and attending events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Policy, Public Policy, related field or equivalent experience. Master's degree in related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of combined public policy and lobbying experience.
  • Previous event planning experience and working with elected officials at the federal level preferred.

License/Certification: Certification as Registered Lobbyist preferred.

Pay Range: $116,100.00 - $214,700.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
